Stayed in this hotel just for one night since we had an early morning prayers in Tirupati. Having made my entire booking via booking.com, I was first shocked to be told by the front desk staff during check in that my (pretty expensive) room did not include half board as per my booking. After showing my documentations, they apologised and acknowledged that it was a system error and gave me my room. However, just when we settled in I received another call from the front desk team claiming that I had changed my booking dates earlier and this has resulted in change of my package to ‘room only’. Now, this person had an unhelpful tone and was very clearly trying to drive the message that everything was my fault and the onus is on me to contact booking.com to settle the issue. ‘Lucky for me’, after making several international phone calls, I found out that it was the hotel that ‘messed up’ my booking. This led the hotel to ‘reinstate’ my privileges and the front desk manager apologising for the inconvenience. The whole point of writing this review is to highlight the lack of professionalism, tact and empathy from a team that’s supposed to be one of the best in India. Even if it had been my mistake, the whole discussion could have been conducted face to face, and they could have spoken to booking.com before coming back to me to claim that i have misunderstood my hotel package. In my case, its even worse since I was right and it was the hotel which was wrong. Imagine if this was my parents who had been in my shoes. They would have just accepted whatever that the hotel staff were telling them! Hence, I felt the need to complain. Having said the above, the F&B team of Taj Tirupati made us forget all the mess. They were an amazing bunch, being so attentive, warm and efficient. The food was fantastic too, I was simply taken aback by how vegetarian menu could be that delicious. One of the best that I’ve eaten in a five star chain in India.

We have stayed here twice during our temple visits. It is not at Tirumala but in Tirupati town. the temple is around 40 minutes drive from the temple. The staff is friendly and helpful. Service can be a little off at times, mostly at the restaurant when they are busy. We love the pool on the terrace. Gorgeous sunsets. the breakfast buffet is a big spread and the restaurants serve good food. Though the fine dine restaurant is quite steep in pricing. The hotel is very connected to kala haste, the archeological sites and has many eating options around.

They welcome you so beautifully and it looks amazing as you are not expecting it. Coconut water in real coconut was served as a welcome it was heartwarming. They upgraded our room as the one I booked was not available at any cost. In rooms, you are given fresh fruits for free. They were accommodating in giving us breakfast earlier than usual time as we had to catch a flight. The Manager Soumya did not charge me for one dish which was made very hot and I was not able to eat.

Taj standards well maintained. Very friendly staff and take good care of guests. The pool lifeguard(Senthil) was a lovely guy who took good care and explained sightseeing places. Tirupati isn't a tourist destination in my opinion and we revere it as a holy place. Taj perfectly balances comfort while maintaining decorum to not disturb the faith and divinity of devotees. No dirty indulgence, in short.

Breakfast was Excellent. I do not eat processed foods but eat whole foods. For breakfast I used to have omelet, millet, vegetables, beans curry. Room: Nice big room with 4 sitting places. Staff: Most of the staff was okay. Sukhal was very helpful.
